When Growth Outpaces the Platform
This firm is a fast-growing registered investment advisor managing more than a billion dollars in assets across a distributed advisor team. Their model is built on relationships, deep, multigenerational, household-level trust built over years.
Their technology, unfortunately, was built on years of accumulated workarounds. And because the data flowing into Salesforce couldn’t be relied on, advisors had quietly stopped trusting the system, defaulting back to source platforms to check the numbers themselves.
Problem
The firm had been on Salesforce for years, but the instance had been so heavily customized over time that it had become a liability.Â
A brittle Orion integration meant balances, holdings, and trading data in Salesforce were often stale or wrong. Advisors didn’t trust what they saw, so they swivel-chaired back to verify it. That integration ran through Orion Connect, an aging managed package that carried extra licensing and API costs.
- There was no true household 360
- No Marketing Cloud activation
- No unified client journey
As the firm grew through M&A, integrating new advisors and client books onto the existing platform was becoming increasingly painful. Three redundant third-party systems were still running alongside Salesforce, each adding cost and complexity without adding value.
Process
Fortimize led a full migration from the legacy Sales Cloud environment to Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, purpose-built for how wealth management firms actually operate.
- True client householding was established, giving advisors a complete view of every relationship across all household members, goals, and accounts.
- Jitterbit replaced Orion Connect, the costly and unreliable managed-package integration, with a clean, direct connection to the Orion API. For the first time, the balances, holdings, and account data landing in FSC were accurate and current, so advisors could trust what they saw and stop swivel-chairing to Orion to double-check it. Jitterbit also gave the firm a scalable foundation to host future integrations and consolidate billing.
- M&A onboarding processes were automated. Agile delivery methodology kept the full project team aligned and on cadence throughout.
Results
Forty-six business processes automated. Three third-party systems retired. A clean, scalable FSC foundation in place, with advisors working in a single system that matches their business for the first time. The household 360 is now live.
Just as important, advisors trust the data again. With a reliable single source for balances, holdings, and household information, the platform finally matches how advisors actually work, and adoption followed.
And with the FSC data model established, Marketing Cloud activation is the logical, achievable next step: compliant, advisor-branded journeys built on the client intelligence that already exists in Salesforce.

Impact on Clients
Advisors can now give their full attention to client relationships instead of second-guessing or chasing data across platforms. Every household is visible in context, goals, accounts, relationships, and history, from a single screen.
Clients experience a more informed, more consistent advisor interaction at every touchpoint. And as Marketing Cloud journeys come online, those interactions will extend beyond the meeting room: compliant, personalized, and timed to the moments that matter most in each client’s financial life.
