When the System Knows Less Than the Banker

A locally owned community bank with deep regional roots was ready for its next phase of growth, but its technology was working against it. Every time a customer called or walked in, bankers had to navigate five to seven systems just to answer a basic question.

Problem

No one had the full picture. Referrals were logged manually and fell through the cracks. Leaders could not see the pipeline in real time. The team described it as “starting from scratch with every customer,” customers felt like strangers every single visit, and bankers felt the weight of it every single day.

Process

Fortimize implemented Salesforce Financial Services Cloud as the bank’s unified system of engagement, connecting its existing LOS foundation with core banking data, wealth management, and treasury information through a MuleSoft integration layer.

Rather than chase a perfect all-at-once rollout, the team built in focused sprints, getting core capabilities live, learning from real usage, and expanding from there.

Lead and referral workflows were rebuilt from the ground up inside Salesforce, giving branch teams real-time visibility from intake to conversion for the first time. The Customer 360 view, combining data from retail, commercial, treasury, and wealth, became the single screen every banker works from each day.

Results

The bank went live in 14 weeks with 200 users and in the first three days the team logged 38 leads and converted 20 of them, a step change that would have been invisible under the old system.

A senior leader called it “the fastest go-live I’ve seen from a bank.” The Salesforce AE said it unprompted to the bank’s executive leadership: “I see a lot of these projects. This approach is much better than some of the others I’ve seen.” He was thinking of another bank he covers that bought the same platform 18 months ago and still has not launched. What changed here was not just the technology.

Bankers stopped toggling between systems. Leaders stopped waiting for monthly snapshots that were already stale. And the bank, for the first time, could see its own growth in motion and act on it.

Impact on Customers

Bankers showed up knowing the full relationship, accounts, history, products, and needs,  before the conversation even started, so customers stopped repeating themselves

The experience shifted from fragmented and reactive to consistent and relationship-driven, making members of this community feel known at their own bank for the first time

What's Next

Phase 1 is live and the bank did not wait to see what came next. They added licenses, contracted Phase 2, and are already moving toward Marketing Cloud journeys and Agentforce. The pipeline reflects it: significant proposal-stage opportunities, meaningful closed-won revenue in the weeks following go-live, and a customer base pulling for more capability rather than waiting to be sold it.

That pull is the signal. When a foundation is right, everything else follows.
